Halloween and stitching fans, rejoice! For the first time ever, it's Wild Olive's Not So Spooky Stitching Club! Because what could be better than combining embroidery, cute spooks, English paper piecing, and candy?
The Not So Spooky Stitching Club is a stitching project that combines embroidery and English paper piecing, with a bit of sewing. It's suitable for beginners and fun for experienced stitchers too.
This project features 13 embroidery patterns with some favorite Halloween characters and icons.
Each pattern fits on a piece that's part of a hexagon spider web mini quilt, and that's where the English paper piecing (a hand-sewing technique) comes in. Along with the embroidered sections, you'll also make extra pieces and everything will fit together to make a mini quilt you can hang on your wall or use as a table mat. Full instructions for English paper piecing and sewing the mini quilt are included, though it's helpful to have some knowledge of embroidery and know how to use a sewing machine.
If you can set aside a few hours a week for this, you'll have a hand-embroidered 14x16-inch mini quilt ready in time for the Halloween season. All while connecting with others in the club on social media by using the club hashtag: #NotSoSpookyStitchingClub.
You will also receive a PDF stitch guide which you can print and fold to keep on hand!
